About
Gear notes from independent editors
Roundupreshowmingl is a small, independent team of travellers and commuters who carry the packs we write about. We started because most gear lists felt written for a search engine, not for a person standing in an airport with the wrong bag.
Our job is simple: choose one best pick for each kind of trip, explain why in plain language, and show the alternatives so you can decide fast.
How we test
We load each pack with a standard kit and carry it on a mixed route of stairs, platforms and pavements. We check fit across a range of torso lengths, open and close every zip many times, and note anything that rubs, sags or snags. For trekking packs we add a loaded walk with a full day's water and food. We judge each pack on seven criteria, set out in the Load Test Notes on our home page, so the verdicts are comparable.
How we stay independent
No brand pays for placement, and none sees a verdict before it is published. Where we mention a price, it is a guide and can change. Specifications are rounded maker figures, and we ask you to check the current listing before you buy. If we get something wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
